PARTNERS
Pre-Pointe Assessments
Assessing readiness for pointe work. Starting en pointe is an exciting milestone for ballet dancers. Therefore, determining adequate strength, control and technique will minimize the risk of injuries. The Pre-Pointe Assessment is designed to gauge the strength, capacity and ability of the ballet dancer’s progression to pointe-work.
Biomechanical Assessments
Understanding the relationships between the dancer’s foot, legs and upper body is an important part of improving the ballet dancer’s technique. Research has stated that biomechanical assessments, inclusive of functional tests, can examine core stability, foot and ankle strength and flexibility, lower extremity alignment, and postural control to help determine muscle imbalances, and compensation.
Injury Treatment and Management
Ballet Podiatry provides in-studio non-surgical treatment of musculoskeletal and dermatological conditions. Our goal is to provide specialized and holistic treatment for injury prevention. We are also available for support during performances.
Workshops and Presentations
Educating ballet dancers on a wide-range of topics such as basic foot and ankle anatomy, nutrition, and injury prevention which will help them to improve their technique while remaining healthy and strong.
